telecom, technology and the occasional floobergeist

I’ve got an abundance of bits and pieces of canadian telecom and internet experience, and I am thrilled to be in a place in time when all is changing, technology is developing, and the status quo is being disrupted.

Floobergeist is a word that is beginning to defy definition.  The more I roll that smooth pebble around, the more it becomes to mean. Floobergeist started out as the magic dust that turns dreams into ideas.  And then it began to encompass the zing that happens when you have conversations about those ideas. And now, it’s the whole evolution from dream to conversation, with each step improving the later and the former along the way.

Everyone aspires to good conversations. They can lead you to adventures you’ve never imagined, and to people you can twig with.

Let’s have a good conversation…

welcome.

it's a mad, mad world...

In a country when there are so many choices, and so many people who made a real difference… ronnie wins….. yeesh.  Gee - he beat out the man who abolished slavery… OMG.  Methinks it’s bedtime for Bonzo.

In order, the top 10 greatest Americans selected are:

  1. Ronald Reagan
  2. Abraham Lincoln
  3. Martin Luther King
  4. George Washington
  5. Benjamin Franklin
  6. George W. Bush
  7. Bill Clinton
  8. Elvis Presley
  9. Oprah Winfrey
  10. Franklin D. Roosevelt

All around me are familiar faces
Worn out places, worn out faces
Bright and early for their daily races
Going nowhere, going nowhere
And their tears are filling up their glasses
No expression, no expression
Hide my head I want to drown my sorrow
No tomorrow, no tomorrow
And I find it kind of funny
I find it kind of sad
The dreams in which I’m dying
Are the best I’ve ever had
I find it hard to tell you
‘Cos I find it hard to take
When people run in circles
It’s a very, very
Mad World

- Tears for Fears

it's not the heat that gets you....

At times one might wish for a little less global warming.  It’s days like today (and yesterday, and the day before, and the week before), when a little rain may not necessarily be a bad thing.

This morning the sun was a miserable little nubbin in the sky - sqinting through what tourists may think of as haze…. with an orange luminescence over the harbour.  It didn’t look fresh.  It didn’t look healthy. It didn’t look right.

sunny sunday...

ahh sunday - thy name is heaven….. the “world is my oyster” sunday.

got back yesterday from an adventure in appin, picking up love and hugs from the farm, not to mention, bringing home our new computer table…

ahem, i really should clarify that…. it’s NOT a computer table - it’s a sexy little hall table that will house our monitor (flatscreen) and kebourard and mouse (both wireless)…. and it’s beautiful.  of course the wiz wants to do some modifications to it…. but i stood by my little table and said no.  plus, you haven’t had to see the “enhancements” he did to the new coffee table… shudder. :-)

the only think on my todolist this morning is schnuggle.

the official beginning of summer...

we had our first dinner on the patio tonight - 90% bbq ;-) 10% salad…. on our new patio furniture…
It’s simply great furniture…. we were looking for something smaller, but the price was right - and we can now curl up on it and watch the water and the sunset in the city….

speaking of watching - you can tell it’s offically summer now at the harbour = bonjovi playing across the water on all the party  boats is the tip off that the good weather is here….

why people should have to listen to bonjovi whilst on the water is beyond me….. but the boats are beautiful at night, lit and swaying… and even bonjovi is bearable under those conditions ;-)
