telecom, technology and the occasional floobergeist

I’ve got an abundance of bits and pieces of canadian telecom and internet experience, and I am thrilled to be in a place in time when all is changing, technology is developing, and the status quo is being disrupted.

Floobergeist is a word that is beginning to defy definition.  The more I roll that smooth pebble around, the more it becomes to mean. Floobergeist started out as the magic dust that turns dreams into ideas.  And then it began to encompass the zing that happens when you have conversations about those ideas. And now, it’s the whole evolution from dream to conversation, with each step improving the later and the former along the way.

Everyone aspires to good conversations. They can lead you to adventures you’ve never imagined, and to people you can twig with.

Let’s have a good conversation…

welcome.

reb....

… ok - missing you.
know where you are - know where you’ve been. want you to know that the sun is shining somewhere - even if it’s cloudy in your own backyard.

say something.
anything.

i struggle with aphyds...

… no, not in the office… in my morning glories in the rooftop oasis.  i grew those little devils in water and papertowels, migrated them to their own pots, helped them climb every possible railing on the oasis, and grinned when they let forth their first bloom.

now they are sick.

insecticidial soap seems to be competing with the aphyds in sucking the life out of my glories. i am at a loss. they got another bath tonight, cool water, a good rub on each leaf, cleaning out the critters, with fingers crossed. i swear, if there’s another yellow leaf tomorrow, i’m going to jump.

footprints

Gulp…. my global footprint…. thanks taob!!

rain...

last night - today - for the past 12 hours or so.  I am thrilled. The roof oasis is less so - flower blossom shrapnel everywhere.

The wiz returns tonight after excessive hockey shenanigans. I hope he’s thriving in this heat.

dog problem....

the small dog’s nose is a mess of broken blisters for some strange reason.  they flowered over the night - and on friday - we woke to a very unattractive nasal protrubence… she isn’t thrilled.  neither are we.  and she continues to display her ‘non-thrilled’ feelings by rubbing what remains of her nose all over the place - leaving a trail of blood and gore.
my trick today - on what should be a ‘kick  back and do all the things i never think of doing when the wiz is around’ sort of day, i am calling verterinary clinics in desperation - trying to find a suitable - walking - distance medical solution for the beastie.

i told her she wasn’t that homely with all the gruesome ooze, and she hid behind a chair.
she didn’t believe me.

a view from the roof...

looking across the lake, some days seeing hamilton, stony creek, burlington; but most days not seeing farther than the end of the pier, like tonight… and it seems like we are in a bubble of haze and faded sunlight.

the patio is a warm oasis, with the oleander tree  now in bloom, dancing towards the sun every time i move her around.  the sweetpeas have grown up, and the smell makes me close my eyes and smile.

almost every rung of the staircase is dressed in morning glory, and i wait for the morning when the railing is formalized in pinks and purples and yellows.

even though i can’t see the other side of the lake, what i see inside the corners of my garden seems to more than make up for it now.

fast cars

molson indy this weekend.
small dog not thrilled.
i woke this morning to dog footprints in the bathtub.
so that’s where she was yesterday afternoon.  she missed paul tracy running out of gas.
i guess it’s just as well.
